El poder de las palabras: escritura para la gestión emocional y prevención de violencia en adolescentes

Resumen

La violencia escolar es un fenómeno persistente que afecta la convivencia, el bienestar y el desarrollo integral de los adolescentes, manifestándose en formas físicas, verbales, sociales y digitales. Sus consecuencias incluyen depresión, ansiedad, trastorno de estrés postraumático, bajo rendimiento académico y aislamiento social, con secuelas que pueden perdurar hasta la adultez. La adolescencia, etapa de intensos cambios emocionales y sociales, se caracteriza por una autorregulación emocional en desarrollo, lo que incrementa el riesgo de respuestas impulsivas o agresivas ante conflictos. En este contexto, la escritura —en formatos expresivo, creativo y reflexivo— se plantea como una herramienta accesible y flexible para fomentar la gestión emocional y, de forma indirecta, prevenir conductas violentas. A través de mecanismos como el affect labeling (poner en palabras las emociones) y la reevaluación cognitiva, la escritura permite a los adolescentes procesar experiencias difíciles, desarrollar empatía y fortalecer habilidades socioemocionales. La evidencia revisada muestra que, integrada en programas de aprendizaje socioemocional, prácticas restaurativas y mediación escolar, la escritura puede contribuir a reducir la incidencia de violencia y favorecer una cultura de paz en entornos educativos.
